Schedule of Events

International Education Week (IEW) is celebrated around the country as a time to recognize the benefits of a globalized education. The Center for International Services and Programs is sponsoring events all week to promote professional development and education in fun but internationally-minded ways. All events are free and open to 51ĀŅĀ× students, faculty, and staff with 51ĀŅĀ× ID.

State Diplomacy, Egyptology, and Colonialism

The Catalan diplomat and jurist, Eduard Toda i Güell, represents a pivotal figure in nineteenth-century Spain's engagement with the Arab world. This brief study examines two key aspects of his legacy: his acquisition of over 1,350 Egyptian antiquities during a short posting in Cairo, and the enduring relevance of the travelogue he published about his time in Egypt.
